Abstract
This study investigates the durability of phenolic-treated Buluh Madu (Gigantochloa albociliata) against the bamboo borer (Dinoderus minutus). Buluh Madu, a bamboo species, is widely used for various applications. However, it is susceptible to infestations by the bamboo borer, which can significantly compromise its structural integrity. To enhance its resistance to these pests, phenolic treatment was applied to Buluh Madu. The research involved assessing the effectiveness of this treatment by subjecting the treated bamboo to controlled conditions and evaluating its durability against bamboo borer attacks. Through comprehensive analysis and testing, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the potential of phenolic treatment as a viable method for protecting Buluh Madu against the detrimental impact of bamboo borers, contributing to the sustainable and prolonged use of this bamboo species in construction and other applications.
