Abstract

A study was conducted to identify internal factors that influence the purchase of wooden furniture by consumers in Taman Indah Jaya, Sandakan, Sabah. This study aims to determine the internal factors that contribute to the purchase decision of wooden furniture consumers and analyze the most influencing internal factors by in terms of price, design and quality in the purchase of wooden furniture by consumers in Taman Indah Jaya, Sandakan, Sabah. This study applies a quantitative method that uses a questionnaire as a research instrument. Questionnaires were randomly distributed to 366 respondents via online in Taman Indah Jaya, Sandakan, Sabah. This study applies a quantitative method that uses a questionnaire as a data collection instrument. Data collection methods were used, namely an online form (Google Form) through social media such as WhatsApp and telegram. A total of 366 data were obtained and analyzed descriptively using SPSS. The results found that 171 (46.7%) respondents thought that attractive design is the most influential factor in the use of wooden furniture. 228 (80.3%) respondents were satisfied with 4 types of wooden furniture such as living room set, dining set, garden set, and bedroom set in terms of quality, price, and design. This shows how important wooden furniture is in everyday life; because it is a basic need in the home or office and can be used for assets in the future. The findings of this study may help the furniture industry, especially wooden furniture, in improving the quality and design of products with competitive prices to meet the needs and customer satisfaction in using wooden furniture. The design is the most influential factor for the satisfaction among respondents because the creator takes care to have all the concerns in mind, especially the way it can impact the body.
