Abstract
This study looks at Kanching Waterfall's competitiveness from the standpoint of tourists' perceived quality, a major tourist destination in Malaysia. The study centres on four primary characteristics that enhance a destination's competitiveness: ease of access, facilities and infrastructure, the surrounding natural environment, and safety and security. Surveys and interviews are used to assess how visitors see these characteristics, giving valuable information about how satisfied they are with the waterfall’s area. This study provides a deeper insight of the competitiveness of Kanching Waterfall by concentrating on tourist perceptions. The results can direct management and development plans for the waterfall in the future to keep it a popular tourist attraction. Also, this research explores the complex relationship between perceived quality and visitor happiness in the context of Kanching Waterfall's competitiveness as a travel destination. The focus of the study is on how visitors' subjective perceptions of the waterfall's features affect their level of satisfaction overall and, in turn, affect its competitive advantage. This study provides important insights for improving Kanching Waterfall's competitiveness by illuminating the complex relationship between perceptions and satisfaction. The waterfall's standing in the tourism industry can be strengthened by implementing targeted modifications and resource allocation after it is determined which features have the greatest impact on visitor happiness.
