Abstract
This study examines public perspectives on accessible outdoor recreation facilities for people with disabilities (PWDs), focusing on implicit biases, cultural influences, and perceived risks. Outdoor recreation offers numerous benefits for mental and physical health and connects with nature. However, PWDs often face challenges in participating in such activities due to barriers such as poor weather, lack of curb cuts, and limited strength. The study suggests that adapted equipment, accessible facilities, and trained staff can help dismantle barriers and foster inclusivity in outdoor recreation.
