Abstract
Study of reproductive status of frugivorous bat Cynopterus brachyotis was conducted at latitude of 113° 05' E 03° 12' Nat a forest site in UPM Bintulu Campus for seven months from July 2007 to January 2008. This study was carried out to investigate the synchronization and rhythm of reproductive activities in Cynopterus brachyotis in relation to the environment factors. Bats samples were captured using mist nets. Body mass and forearm length was measured using digital balanced and digital vernier calliper. External reproductive status was recorded. Rainfall data were obtained from Bintulu Meteorological Station. It was found that highest bat body mass was recorded at highest data rainfall. There were two peaks of reproductive seasons where it was in August 2007 and December 2007. Reproductive status of Cynopterus brachyotis was probably influenced by the environmental factors.
