Abstract
It is believed that a successful management of groundwater requires a thorough knowledge of the aquifer structure, identification of practicable steps for managing depletion and enhancement of groundwater supplies by artificial recharge. A proper study and research need to be done in managing the water sources. Groundwater pumping was used for domestic use, agriculture, or mining. Problems that are often arising in groundwater are excessive pumping. This is a big problem as it can lead to water depletion and environmental disasters. Thus, a pumping test needs to be done to identify the water yielding capacity and supply potential from aquifer characteristics. The pumping was done by abstracting an amount of water using suitable type of pump. The type of pumping tests that will be done is constant rate pumping test. It was carried out at a constant flow rate, Q for a period of time. Next, the data collected will be analyzed to determine the aquifer characteristics. These characteristics will determine water yielding capacity of an aquifer where storativity obtained is 1.182. Other than that, it also determines water supply potential of the aquifer as intermediate as the transmissivity calculated is 13.727 m2/d.
