Abstract
A study was conducted with the following objectives: (i) to determine the nutrients avaibility of 'uncomposted' sago pith and (ii) to determine the suitabilily of 'uncomposted' sago pith for germination media. For the purpose of comparison, mung bean (Vigna Radiata) seeds was germinated on two different media, namely sago pith and coco peat. The growth comparison was conducted for the period of 14 days. The nutrient contents; Nitrogen (N), Carbon (C) and Potassium (K) and water holding capacity of the media was determined. By drying and healing 1he sago pith. the experiment conducted showed that sago pith has the potential to be used as germination media as of coco peat.
