Abstract
Introduction: Due to the MCO implementation in Malaysia, undergraduate students need to learn from home. As a result, they spend the majority of their time indoors, influencing the Indoor Environmental Quality of their home. This study aims to determine the perceived indoor environment quality among the undergraduate student and factors related to Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) during Movement Control Order (MCO). Method: A modified self- assessed questionnaire was used to collect the data on the sociodemographic, perceived indoor environmental quality and perceived health status among the undergraduate students in Malaysia (N = 513). Social media was used to distribute the questionnaire to the undergraduate students. Scoring was given for perceived indoor environmental quality and perceived health status before analysis was conducted. Result and discussion: Sociodemographic represented 6% of the total score of Indoor Environment Quality. The total score of Indoor Environmental Quality was weak, positively and significantly correlated with the total score of health and symptom (r =0.115, p=0.009). When the total score of IEQ increase, the total score of health also increases. Thus, bad IEQ will cause bad health to respondents. Respondents also believed that the home environment did affect their level of fitness during MCO. Conclusion: The perception on Indoor Air Quality among students were influenced by their sociodemographic and health effect that they experienced.
