Abstract

Introduction : A few studies showed that there were several factors associated with knowledge, attitude and preventive practices towards COVID-19. Those factors include sociodemographic factors (age, gender, ethnicity, underlying health conditions, socio-economic status and educational level) and family history. Objective : The objective of this study was to determine the knowledge, attitude, and preventive practices towards COVID-19 among population of University of Third Age in MyAgeing, UPM and Bandar Utama. Methods : A cross sectional study was conducted among third age population in University of Third Age in MYAGEING, UPM and in Bandar Utama. Simple random sampling was used to select respondents. A self-administered online questionnaire was distributed among the respondents to collect data. Multiple logistic regression was used to determine the factors associated with knowledge, attitude and preventive practices towards COVID-19. Results : The level of knowledge, attitude and preventive practices towards COVID-19 among respondents from both third age universities were at an acceptable level. There were two significant associations found. Conclusion : There were significant associations found between educational level and income groups with the level of attitude towards COVID-19 among all respondents.
