Abstract
Plant growth is significantly influenced by their surroundings, hence proper monitoring is necessary to ensure optimal growth and distribution. As a result, the goal of this project is to develop a smart farming monitoring system that incorporates automation and internet of things (IOT) technologies, as well as auto irrigation based on real-time soil moisture data. Sensors such as soil moisture, humidity, temperature, water level, and gas sensors are utilized to create a closed-loop automated system for this purpose. When the moisture level falls below the marginal value, a signal is transmitted to the microcontroller board, which causes the pump-to-pump water into the plant. The pump is turned off when the moisture level reaches an absolute value. The level sensor is the other requirement for this operation. The level sensor detects the tank's water level. The humidity, temperature, and gas numbers indicate the conditions in which the plant can grow in a healthy state. All sensor data will be collected and delivered to an open source IOT Platform (Thinkspeak) cloud server for data visualization on the web and mobile devices. The IOT platform will be set up to process all key data from the plant monitoring system and send an alarm notification to the owner if anything goes wrong.
