Abstract

The Eucalyptus hybrid,(Eucalyptus urphylla x Eucalyptus grandis) , is a highyielding species with excellent potential for development and adaptation. This study examines the difference in above-ground biomass between two categories of Eucalyptus trees based on Diameter at Breast Height (DBH), specifically those with DBH > 10 cm and < 10 cm. A total of 30 trees, including 15 in each category, were examined for various components. The computation of above-ground biomass involved three key parameters: fresh weight, air-dry weight, and oven-dry weight, considering temperature's impact on biomass reduction. An allometric equation was used to estimate the biomass weight of the stem and total biomass. The allometric equation of the model shows the significant effect of stem diameter on fresh weight biomass, as indicated by a high R2 value of 0.8669. Similarly, the R2 value of 0.7986 for air dry weight also suggests a strong correlation. These high R2 values indicate the effectiveness of the allometric equation in measuring the relationship. The relationship between aboveground biomass and diameter at breast height is crucial for precise biomass quantification, and allometric equations are essential for avoiding generic equation errors.
