Abstract

This study aims to identify the misunderstandings of high school students in the topic of Quantum Physics and solve the problem of misconceptions through the production of teaching aids that is the Quantum Physics Module. This study was carried out through quantitative research, i.e. survey method. The population of this study is Form 5 students at SMK Kompleks Gong Badak, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. The sample for this study was a total of 30 students who were randomly selected. Data collection was done with a questionnaire technique in the form of a questionnaire on the causes of misconceptions called Survey of Students Related to Misconceptions in Quantum Physics among Secondary Students: Quantum Physics. The survey consists of four sections and includes 15 question items that have been developed by the researchers. The results of the data analysis showed that the largest percentage of the causes of misunderstandings occurred due to students lacking understanding of the theories in the topic. Thus it can be concluded that the cause of misconceptions among high school students on the topic of quantum physics is more to theoretical questions than computational questions. It was also found that the use of the Quantum Physics Module that has been produced has a positive impact which can reduce misunderstandings among students. As evidence can be seen through the positive feedback in the post -study survey.
