Abstract
Introduction: Low back pain is one of the common work-related injuries which results in the disability among global workforces. The occurrence of work-related low back pain was found to be quite high and expected to rise in the future. Although the occurrence of low back pain is known to be associated with physical factors, people are not aware that psychological factors are also associated to low back pain. The research was carried out in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan among manufacturing line workers at a Food and Beverage Industry whereby there are insufficient studies associating psychological factors with low back pain especially within the region where this proposed study will be conducted. The findings from this study may be utilised by the study site management to evaluate and implement any necessary control measures as well as be referred to for future related studies. Objectives: To determine the prevalence of low back pain and its association with psychological factors among factory workers in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
