Abstract
This study evaluates the effectiveness of interpretative signage in Sun Island National Park, China. It examines how signage influences visitor understanding and behavior toward conservation efforts. Utilizing an instrument questionnaire, a total of 258 respondents participated in the survey. Among them, a majority of 119 individuals expressed the view that the conservation purposes of the park, as conveyed through the signage, was unclear. Additionally, a significant proportion of 186 respondents indicated that the signage lacks interpretive narratives related to the park's features. Findings suggest that the park's signage inadequately conveys conservation messages and lacks engagement. Recommendations for redesign include enhanced readability, content clarity, multilingual options, and inclusive design. The goal is to improve visitor experience and promote conservation behaviors, contributing to the park's sustainable management.
