Abstract

The exploration of travel motivation among tourists reveals the intricate factors influencing their inclination to visit Langkawi Island. This study delves into the multifaceted elements that shape tourists' desires to explore this captivating destination. By examining these motivating factors, the research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of what drives individuals to choose Langkawi Island as their preferred travel destination. This study aims to investigate how visitors' anxiety levels influence their motivation to travel to Langkawi Island. Three primary research objectives were formulated: first, to assess the level of travel concern among visitors; second, to gauge the level of travel motivation to visit Langkawi Island; and third, to analyze the impact of travel motivation on travel concerns, particularly on tourists visiting Langkawi Island. A total of 250 respondents participated in the study, answering the questionnaire face-to-face through QR scan methods to complete an online survey (Google Form). The study's findings predominantly revealed positive trends, indicating low anxiety levels among tourists and a high motivation to continue traveling even post the COVID-19 outbreak. To ascertain the relationship between travel concern and travel motivation, the researcher employed multiple regression analysis, establishing a significant correlation between the two factors. Additionally, this study aimed to determine the post-COVID-19 pandemic travel motivation levels of tourists visiting Langkawi Island.
