Abstract

The demand for recreational activities is increasing due to the awareness of the advantages of recreation. However, minority groups do not get their equal right to do recreation because of their disability, at the same time they are sidelined and cause them to have internal and external issues, which is mental and physical. Therefore, this study was studied in detail to find out the perceptions, experiences, and opinions of one of the disabled people, namely the visually impaired, to evaluate all perspectives that can be used to draw up plans for other organizations to defend the fate of disabled people. The method that being used in this study is qualitative method which was carried out through in-depth interviews. This interview was indirectly able to understand the implied meaning they were trying to convey during the program. Visually impaired individuals who are members of Pertubuhan Pembangunan Orang Buta Malaysia (PPOBM) who have been participants in Unleash Your Power, be as interviewees in this study. The interview was recorded by recorder device and being transcribed to create coding. The outcome that been found in this study are majority of the respondent gain benefits based on psychology and physical well-being which give impact to them in balancing their quality of life.
