Abstract

Hiking is a widely popular recreational activity in the community, but often, people overlook the consideration and awareness of resource degradation. To address the deterioration of recreational resources and the unregulated arrival of hikers in Broga Hill, there are ongoing efforts to implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. These initiatives involve collaborations between NGOs and the local community to reduce the impact on resources. This study aims to evaluate stakeholders' awareness of the benefits of CSR implementation and the significant recreational impact in Broga Hill. A questionnaire, developed based on Carroll's Pyramid and the conceptual model for measuring environmental consciousness, was distributed to 200 respondents, including hikers, nature guides, and nearby residents of Broga Hill. Descriptive analysis and One-way Analysis of Variances (ANOVA) were conducted using SPSS software, and the findings on stakeholders awareness on recreational impact and knowledge on CSR benefits were presented alongside critical discussions. The research results can serve as a valuable guide for resource managers, planners, and environmentalists in understanding the importance of stakeholder engagement to minimize recreational impact in Broga Hill.
