Abstract

This research delves into the transformative experiences of Malaysian university students engaged in adventure therapy within the realm of outdoor recreation activities where University students frequently experience burnout, which can negatively impact both their academic performance and general wellbeing. With a burgeoning body of evidence highlighting the positive impact of outdoor engagement on overall well-being, this study seeks to uncover and understand the nuanced perspectives and perceived benefits that Malaysian students associate with such experiences. A survey involved a comprehensive analysis of 282 Malaysian university student respondents who actively participated in various outdoor recreation activities were conducted. Through quantitative analyses where to explore university students' perceptions and experiences of adventure therapy within outdoor recreation activities, the research unveils the multifaceted ways in which outdoor recreation contributes to the enhancement of students' well-being and life perception. This study enriches adventure therapy literature and offers insights for educators, mental health professionals, and outdoor enthusiasts seeking to enhance the benefits of outdoor engagement for Malaysian university students.
