Abstract

Electromagnetic Interference shielding is introduced to protect internal electromagnetic signal/waves from being disrupted by external electromagnetic signal/waves and a way to reduce the coupling of electrostatic and electromagnetic fields. Chitosan is used as conducting polymer of this shielding materials as for its biodegradable and environmentally friendly. As for the enhancement in the conductivity, carbon nanofiller is introduced. As a result of this study, the shielding effectiveness is compared between pure chitosan film, Fe3O4/Ch (0.5wv%) film, Gr/Fe3O4/Ch (0.5wv%) film and f-MWCNT/Fe3O4/Ch (0.5wv%) film. Some characterizations were done and the total shielding effectiveness were observed.
