Abstract
An assessment of the degree of tick infestation In cattle and Buffaloes is described. Result of the study showed a very significant breed difference (p<0.01) and individual variations to tick infestation. The mean tick counts tended to be greater in the exotics, followed by crossbreds and locals in this order. It also indicated a very significant difference in tick infestation with different management systems (p<0.01). No ticks were found on buffaloes in this series. Boophilus microplus and Haemaphysalis bispinosa were the cattle ticks identified.
