Abstract
Among all renewable energies, solar power is the most abundant and becoming more affordable green resource as the cost of has fallen for the past thirty years by 10% per year. However, aggressive growth of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) farms can create conflict with agricultural production. This issue can be resolved using the concept of agrivoltaics, which is co-development of land area for both solar PV and agriculture, PV panels emit thermal radiation both up and down, and this is particularly significant during the day when PV modules are often 20°C warmer than ambient temperatures. Thus, by applying agrivoltaic system where the arrangement of plant which act as passive cooling under the PV panels which can also increase the efficiency and life span of the PV panels. The feasibility study on the suitability of evapotranspiration natural cooling in agrivoltaics farms and the set-up of,agrivoltaics test bed at UPM is done for this experiment The stochastic tropical weather condition is explored based on, four main environmental factors underneath the PV panels which is air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and Vapour Pressure Deficit (VPD) for 5 days continuous monitoring with 1 minute time intervals. K-type thermocouple sensor is used for the temperature value which, segregated into six levels installed underneath the PV system. Statistical: analysis shows the thermal correlations for evapotranspiration process and heat stress occurrences under PV panels.
