Nevertheless, there were occupational sectors that require the workers to stand for a longer period while completing their job tasks, for example, people who work as food handlers. This group of workers was responsible for cooking, preparing, serving, packing, displaying, and storing food. As most of these job tasks require them to stand for long periods which the tendency of them to develop musculoskeletal discomforts is undeniable. Objective: Therefore, the aim of this study is to assess standing duration and its association with musculoskeletal discomforts among food handlers at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. Methodology: This study was conducted among food handlers which selected randomly from food and beverage outlets under the category café and restaurant at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. A total of 127 respondents participated in this study. All data obtained were analyzed by using SPSS Version 25. Most of the participants experienced foot discomfort (67.71%) followed by lower back (13.75%) and lower leg (13.61%). In this study there was an association between standing duration with musculoskeletal discomforts (ꭓ² =8.785, p=0.032) among the participants. This study also found a statistically significant association between the type of footwear used during standing position with musculoskeletal discomfort (ꭓ² = 7.943, p=0.005) among food handlers at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya.
