Abstract
Aqueous extracts from Citrus suhuiensis, Eurycoma longifolia, Morinda citrifolia, Eugenia oleina, Cassia alata and Nephelium lappaceum were studied for their antimicrobial activities. The antimicrobial properties were determined to control the pathogenic fungus, namely Fusarium oxysporum. F. oxysporum was tested using agar diffusing method with 1:10 concentration of the plant extracts. Results of this study showed variable antimicrobial activity in some plant extracts. The most effective leaf extract is C. suhuiensis which exhibited the highest inhibitory activity against F. oxysporum, while the most effective fruit extract is E. longifolia. This study shows the potential of the leaf extract of C. suhuiensis and the fruit extract of E. longifolia to be used as bio-pesticides.
